Why people here get in touch

The hour you cannot find is usually travel.

People rarely stop attending therapy because they stopped needing it. They stop because a weekly appointment with a drive attached is the first thing that gets cut when a week gets difficult, and the weeks that get difficult are exactly the ones worth attending.

A video session costs the session and nothing else. That sounds like a small administrative detail and it is one of the better predictors of whether someone is still in therapy three months later, which is roughly when this kind of work starts to compound.

How it works

The practical details.

South Burlington sits directly south of Burlington on Lake Champlain and holds much of the area's commercial development along with Burlington International Airport. Sessions are by video, so nothing here depends on where you are in the Chittenden County traffic at five o'clock.

Everything else is the same as it would be in a room: the same length, the same weekly rhythm, the same work. The consult is free and it is a conversation rather than an assessment.

Common questions

Asked by people in South Burlington.

Is video therapy actually effective?
For anxiety and body image work the evidence is encouraging, and in practice the biggest factor is attendance. A format you keep going to beats a better format you quietly stop attending.
What if my connection drops mid session?
It happens occasionally and it is not a problem. We agree at the start how to pick things back up, usually by phone, so nobody spends ten minutes staring at a frozen screen.
Can I have sessions from my office?
If you have a genuinely private space, yes. A session somewhere you might be overheard rarely goes well, so it is worth being honest about the space before booking.
