Anxiety
If your mind feels like it’s always racing, you’re not imagining it. Anxiety can make it hard to rest, focus, or feel at peace.
Worry, what-ifs, and a constant sense of pressure can leave you feeling drained.
Change is possible - you can live a life that isn’t dictated by your anxiety.
Does This Sound Like You?
Constant worry that feels impossible to turn off
Restlessness, racing thoughts, or trouble sleeping
Irritability, perfectionism, or feeling on edge
Overthinking every interaction or decision
Physical symptoms like muscle tension, stomach issues, or headaches
Types of Anxiety I Treat:
-
Ongoing, excessive worry about everyday situations (work, health, relationships, the future).
-
Intense fear of being judged, embarrassed, or rejected in social or performance situations.
-
Repeated, unexpected panic attacks—sudden surges of intense fear and physical symptoms.
-
Unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) paired with repetitive behaviors or rituals (compulsions) to try to reduce the distress.
What Causes Anxiety?
Anxiety can come from a mix of genetics, environment, and learned patterns. Growing up in high-pressure environments, navigating unstable relationships, or constantly being told to “do better” can prime the nervous system to stay in overdrive. Social media and cultural pressure to always be “on” and “achieving” can intensify it.
The good news is; it is possible to find safety within yourself, even when the outside world feels chaotic.
How Can Therapy Help Me Manage Anxiety?
In therapy, we’ll practice strategies to manage symptoms in the moment - like mindfulness, grounding, and CBT tools to stop spirals - while also exploring the deeper roots of your anxiety. You’ll learn to shift from constant worry and self-criticism into more calm, confident ways of thinking.
Clients often notice less overthinking, more restful sleep, and a greater ability to actually enjoy the present instead of bracing for the worst.
Progress might look like:
Feeling calmer and more grounded in stressful situations
Letting go of the need to do everything “perfectly”
Being able to take breaks or rest without guilt
Sleeping better and noticing fewer physical symptoms of stress (like racing heart or tight chest)
Trying new things even if the outcome isn’t guaranteed
“I used to overthink everything and constantly beat myself up. Talking with Donnie feels like talking to someone who gets me. I leave sessions feeling lighter and like I can handle things.”
